The house has been very quiet around here.

Mom brushed us, clipped our nails and gave most of us baths today! We really didn't like it, but were as patient as we could be! Most of us our exploring our new homes today. Two of us are waiting for our parents to come this upcoming week, so Kent and Trina are enjoying spoiling us!

Greetings from the Puppies!

We had a great week with some visits from our soon-to-be owners! We are starting to explore all over the big yard which keeps everyone on their toes! We are enjoying our "Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul" regular/small breed dry dog food. We love to run and play. We love to sit and roll over to be pet as live teddybears! Greetings from the puppies!!

Cute Things We Did This Week:

Chloe (Mary's puppy): I twirled in a circle. I also rolled over and over and over again.

Curly Girl (Kathy & John's puppy): I have this silly photo (above)

Curly Boy (Broady & family's puppy): I found the baby's toy and chewed on it, just long enough for Mom to take a picture. Then, I had to give it back.

Medium Boy (Alison's puppy): I discovered that the good old shoelace is fun to chew! However, Dad then distracted me by petting my tummy.

Bixby (Amy, Tessa and Katie's puppy): I got lost underneath Mom's long dress.

We are now weaned, since Tuesday. We still love to sit to be pet and then get our tummies rubbed. We discovered the leaves this week on the right side of the yard and we love to run through them, chasing Frankie! We just LOVE being puppies.

We are on a schedule (built for five puppies) where we are go outside every two or three hours and have about 4-5 long playtimes every day with access to plenty of water. We follow the big dogs inside and outside and rarely have accidents where we sleep. We usually have feeding times in our crate. We go right "in" for feeding and sleeping times when kibble or treats are lined up in the back of the kennel. We go outside for quick potty breaks anytime Mom and Dad are going someplace or before bedtime. We also have quick potty & poop breaks at 2 am and 6 am. Making a schedule for just one of us will be easy in comparison.

P.S. This week we are going to the Vet for our first round of shots, another deworming and health check-up. Final payments are due by September 1, 2011 by mail or paypal (trinapalo@comcast.net). Otherwise, you can pay cash at pick-up. Mom is sending a copy of our contract/guarantee by email. We will be available for pick-up by Friday, September 9th or anytime after that (week of September 9-18th.)

Greetings from the puppies! We started crate training on Sunday so we are let out to go potty and play every 2-3 hours. We also have other potty breaks before going to sleep. We love to play inside and outside, yet mostly outside in this gorgeous weather. We do prefer the shade when it's hot. Whenever Mom greets us, we all sit and then roll on our tummies for attention. We are all friendly and do what mom and dad call the pupparrazzi.

In the photo above, mom spread out our food on a plate so we could all eat at the same time. We will be weaned entirely by 7 weeks. We included two blooper photos for fun at the very end of this week's post! Love, the puppies

We so enjoyed all the visits! Our mom, Trina is visiting her 93 year old grandma in San Francisco with the baby, Mirabella. Our dad, Kent and the nephew, Ethan are taking care of us! We are now in the wonderful stage of puppy fun and puppy adventure!

Greetings from the puppies!

All of us are featured above in the three videos.

We let Mom know today that we were ready so we explored the living room, and it was fun!

Frankie and Sandy played with us! One of us (large curly male) even stole a snack from Sandy, outside of her normal feeding times. Another one of us (wavy girl) climbed on top of Sandy. The two smaller males enjoyed the toys and Mom's lap. Curly girl played and then took a nap.

We also went outside for a few minutes to be in the sun, yet we still prefer to explore in the house for now.

We are having a blast at four weeks! We have started the socialization process where visitors hold us and pet us. We are all doing well! We still sleep for many hours of the day. One of us especially LOVES to sleep and is nicknamed "sleepy". Can you guess which one of us that is? Others have been nicknamed "lovey" and "chewy" by some kids that visited.

In the mornings and at night we get this burst of energy and love to greet people and to play! Sandy has started the process of weaning us which means that sometimes she brings us regurgitated food. She needs to eat triple the amount of her normal alloted food as she continues to nurse us! We are looking forward to our future owners visiting us which is happening soon!

Greetings from the puppies! Mom and Dad had date night tonight so we will be posting more pictures on Monday! We love to play! We now have 3 areas that are connected, for sleep, potty and play! Some of us love our tummies rubbed while others love to cuddle! We eat our puppy food and drink water along with mamma's regular milk. We are curious about almost everything. As long as we are not too sleepy, we notice when people come into the room. We love people!

At times, I like to feed my pups in a sitting up position because it is easier for me to make sure all of them can eat at the same time. I sniff (count) the pups and lick them in greeting. The pups are getting bigger! It is normal for my pups to vary in weight (from birth) since they are a mix of a doodle and a poodle. See their weights below:

Greetings from the puppies!

We are more alert and playing together. We now walk to a separate area from sleeping to go potty. Even though it is still early, some of us are coming over with our tails wagging to be pet. Mom and Dad can see small glimpses of those of us that are adventurous and others that are more laid back although we are all exploring! We love it when Daisey and Frankie peek their heads into our space. Frankie introduced us to our first toy, so we are now very fascinated with them! We also licked some puppy food broth for the first time today. Pretty soon we will be having LOADS of fun and playing up a storm which is such a joy!

Greetings from the puppies!

In this video, we are showing early signs of playfulness. We also like to chew on each other.

You can also hear mommy Sandy bark in the background, her cue that she needs to go outside to go potty.

We double in size, the first two weeks, then our growth slows down a little.

We will be between 4.5 and 6 lbs at 8-9 weeks.

As of 7/25/11 we weigh as follows:

The 3 Amigos!

Greetings from Sandy! Now that their eyes are open, the pups are starting to move around more, even though they have always been able to scoot and toddle. The puppies look around for me as soon as they wake up so they can be the first to get a snack! As the puppies grow, they will start to move to another side of the whelping box to go potty. They will also squat on their own and no longer need the licking assistance that I provide. In the meantime, I do my job and I do it well. I love my pups!

Greetings from Sandy,

I am starting to relax and get more sleep which makes Mom and Dad feel better. They also try and give me more privacy during the first week. However, I am always relaxed when the puppies fight over a nipple or when they make disgruntled noises as I lick them so that they can poo and potty. I love being a doodle and I love my doodle pups!

In the video above is a picture of an apricot male displaying the noises we make when we "lose" mama or when we smell her as she comes into the whelping box.

We are one week old, today! We love to eat and sleep and eat some more. We already went to the vet on Wednesday and got our dew claws removed. By next Sunday, our eyes will be open! Our three males weigh approximately 1.1 pounds. The wavy apricot female weighs 1.7 pounds and the curly apricot female weighs 1.5 pounds.

Our mom, Sandy, has been very protective of us this week. However, for the first time since giving birth to us, we heard her run outside and chase a squirrel today!

Greetings from Sandy and the crew,
It was a long night for all of us, yet with great reward, 5 gorgeous puppies! Mom and Dad were my "doulas" and made sure I had cold water frequently, and then some fruit, spinach and eggs towards the end for my final stretch.
I am very protective of the pups, now that they are born and will remain that way for one to two weeks. There are 3 boys and 2 girls. Two of the puppies came out with a darker coat/apricot. One of the puppies has a light apricot coat. Two of the puppies are cream (with apricot tipping). In the pictures the puppies pretty much look the same and won't distinguish themselves until approx. 2 or 3 weeks.

The puppies mostly sleep and eat and make little noises. I will create a flip video later so you can hear them. The great adventure has begin once again and will continue when a puppy arrives in your home.

We enjoy eating a lot, sleeping and crying as we blindly find Sandy's milk.

When we were first born, we fought for the best spot in the house which is sleeping near mom's bum since that reminds us of where we came from (4th photo). The second favorite spot is underneath mom's chin although watch out, she may lick, flip and clean you! We look very tiny, yet we grow very fast!

Greetings from Sandy!

Everyone in our house is waiting for my puppies to come, especially my mom and dad.

We expect the puppies anytime between now and the weekend. I have been waddling around and trying to sleep through this hot week. I have been purposefully walking in the shade when I go out to go potty. While I always have loved my tummy rubbed, I REALLY like it right now. While I am usually very sweet natured towards Frankie, he better stay away from my FOOD right now!

Whenever my mom pets my tummy, she can see the puppies movin', movin', movin' and kickin'!

We are 8 weeks old today! The 3 boys went to their new homes. Most of the pictures listed just happened to be the two of us that are left, the two girls. Trina added two "retriever" stuffed animals to our kennel for comfort and also has two soft beds for us to sleep in.

We are 7 weeks old!

Greetings from the puppies. We are having loads of fun this week! We love to run and play inside and outside. We even enjoy going into our kennel for dog treats or pieces of kibble. We are now on dry dog food 3-4x a day. We love Taste of the Wild mixed with Chicken Soup for the Puppy's Soul. We understand the word "potty" and get lots of praise when we go potty and poop outside.
Mom has trained us so well that when she said, "Let's go outside to go potty" the two girl pups went potty on the spot.....in the middle of the living room! :) Next time, she needs to just say "outside" or "let's go."

Kent calls us the pupparazzi because we swarm him when he or mom is leading us inside or outside. Mom bought some of the "favorite" toys (hedgehog, bird, and rope toy) and treats of the house that she will include in our puppy care packages. She also bought Daisey, Sandy and Frankie's favorite version of the"kong" toy for you to take home which is Petstages Occupi Treat Dispensing Chew Toy. http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3598017.

We will each have a rolled leash and collar (for when we are older) and a slicker brush to prevent our hair from matting. We receive hair brushing, two to three times a week. The earlier you start, the less likely you are to get resistance from us.

We had our first set of shots this week, along with our 2nd worming. We all are in great health!
We will receive Advantage flea medicine on Wednesday which lasts for a month!

The videos show play time inside at 6 weeks and outdoors at 5 weeks. Notice how many household items can be used for playtime. If you use socks that don't have a match, then just realize all other socks need to be kept out of reach. You can use clean cloths. You can use a strong plastic bottle or make your own twisty ropes with strips of cloth (tying knots 2x in the middle and at the ends). Some people even allow cardboard or strong pieces of paper. We are always wanting to substitute play items so that puppy will not chew on our fingers, jeans, shoes or feet.
We never allow puppy to be near our shoes although watch out underfoot because puppy follows close by when we walk! :)

Hi from the puppies! Videos 1-5 are yesterday, 1/30/11. Videos six and seven are on 1/22/11 at five weeks old.

The First Video is of all 5 of us pups playing around. Jazz leaves the scene to play with Sandy. Trina laughed when Coco and Ollie were tugging on the rope and Curly was in the middle. Then she thought it was funny with "Little Guy" was playing around and then when Coco went after him. She said, "Woah!" The Video ends with Jazz playing with Sandy and then like mother like daughter.

The Second Video features "Little Guy" playing with the tail. All of us puppies love each others' tail!

The Third Video features all of us playing. Sandy plays with us kiddos, and she teaches us manners at the same time. Sometimes we like that, sometimes we don't. The Video also displays another household item that we love, large, puffy, hair things!

The Fourth Video especially features Ollie, Little Guy and Curly. It displays how we love to play with Daisey. She tolerates us most of the time, but will let us know if we have gone too far. It also shows Coco & Jazz in Trina's lap and eventually the rest of us will join her as we wind down.

The Fifth Video shows us slowing down and features Jazz, Coco, Curly and Ollie.
The Sixth Video shows us playing outside for the first time at five weeks.

6 Weeks Old Today

Greetings from the puppies! We greet our human parents like this when they get home or come back to get us for play time. We all want to come out and play.

This week we have been eating K9 Natural Lamb Food, 3x a day and still snacking on Sandy. We will be primarily on our puppy food this week along with a daily snack from Sandy, up to 7 weeks. Trina is setting up our puppy schedule and will be posting it this week!
We have started our potty training process. We enjoy being outside, even when it rains. We have picked up the process very fast and only have accidents in the living room on occasion.
We are a very social bunch and we also love to cuddle.

We are Five Weeks Old Today!

It has been a busy week for us. We finish our visits today which have been loads of fun and confusing for some because we are all so amazing! :)

We went outside for the first time yesterday and no one shook or trembled which means we are ready for the outdoor potty training process. We did spend some time in Kent's lap initially and then we explored the area under careful supervision.

We will be fully immersed in the crate training process by next Friday or Saturday since Sandy will be weening us until 6 weeks. We will have trips outside to go potty this entire week. You will receive a copy of our projected schedule at 6 weeks and then an updated version at 8 weeks. We will have Trina on a 3 or 4 am potty break.

We have fully developed into our puppy explosion mode of fun-loving playfulness. As soon as Kent & Trina come into the room (unless we have just had play time) we run to greet them and make loud noises to come out of our contained play area and socialize.

Greetings from the puppies! We are so looking forward to our upcoming people visits! We now run out to greet our owners and all want attention at the same time. There is not a shy pup in the bunch although we have varying levels of energy. After you pick your pup, you may socialize with all of us if you would like.

K9 Natural Food

Mud Bay who is always researching dog food recently got me hooked on K9 Natural Raw dog food because it is a convenient way for me to give my dogs a quality diet. It is Natural Raw Freeze Dried dog food and maintains all its nutrients because it is not processed or cooked. It is more in a soft form because the water in the diet is best for the dog. http://www.k9natural.co.nz/ You can check them out on facebook and ask questions. Now that my dogs are eating it, I probably will never be able to go back because they love it so much. It is also great for me with portion control based on the varying needs of my dogs that are different ages and weights. This food is also great for the puppies right now with the amount of water it provides.

1 box at $200 at Mud Bay lasts for 160 days for a 22lb dog ($1.24) per day. A puppy will require a higher percentage based on weight (feeding 3x a day), during the first 5 or 6 months.

Providing supplementary organic raw chicken necks or small raw beef bones from the Mud Bay freezer section (ask a local butcher also) is great for teeth and bones (lots of calcium), 3 to 4 x a week. It is also the safest for chewing because it is soft and not cooked. Supervision is always recommended. Cooked bones of chicken or meat is never safe and can splinter and cause issues.

At 4 weeks, the puppies are not yet ready for chews.

http://www.mudbay.us/ A local mud bay store is a great resource for any questions you have, even if you don't buy their food. They provide free samples. They now carry Taste of the Wild (life stages) and Premium Edge for Puppy (exact same ingredients as Chicken Soup for the Soul for Puppy). I have used Premium Edge in the past for the puppies.

Petco is also great because you can return any food that you don't like.

For owners, I will provide 2-3 large zip lock bags full of the dry dog food I was feeding Sandy earlier and that the puppies have tried in softened form. The puppies will be on K9 Natural Lamb the majority of the time and I will provide a sample. However, I will also make sure that the puppies are on dry dog food (Chicken Soup for the Puppy Soul) before pick-up so that there is a smooth transition for them and some flexibility. If you use K9 Natural, you don't need to mix the dry food with their food. If you have a dry dog food, then you will mix the food I provide with the new food for a short while.

F1b Miniatures Are 4 weeks Old Today!

We are 4 weeks old today. We have been tasting softened puppy food all week. Sandy still is our main food source. She naturally provides immunity for us. We had our first round of deworming liquid. Our 2nd round will happen at the vet along with our shots.

We were introduced to our new sleeping area on Saturday which we love. We now sleep on our washable bed and then walk outside our sleep area to go potty on the cardboard ramp or on the newspaper below.

We are also starting to explore our play area. We all played for about 10-15 minutes and then most of us were ready to konk out.

We had a two little girls visit us yesterday and they had fun socializing us, especially Evie, who is 4 1/2 years old. She introduced water to some of the pups.

We all drank water today. We loved it, stuck our paws in it and even drank the parts that spilled. The two female pups soaked their faces and paws in a spunky way. Their large cream brother helped lick it off. A week ago, a few puppies found getting soaked with puppy food upsetting when they accidentally got their paws in it. We are maturing and much more curious and fun loving this week.

We are changing by the hour these days. We now rush out at times to greet our human parents when they come into the room.

The puppies are growing a lot. They are starting to go potty and squat on their own.
I am needing to eat about 3x my normal food allotment along with drinking lots of water since week 3 and 4 are key times for feeding for the puppies, before I start the weaning process.
The puppies can hear me and see me now. They perk up as soon as I come into the room.
They churtle and make noises to each other and to me.

We started toddling more this week and interacting with each other. We now walk away from our sleeping area to go potty in a large circle, especially the last few days. The sheets have to be changed frequently. Our human mom has an adjoining potty area set up for when we are ready to go there. We have already started exploring it. Eventually our current sleep area will become a play area and we will walk to our potty area and sleeping haven.
Our personalities are still developing and will come out more and more in the next week or two. Kent & Trina have posted pictures with their initial guesses, but will update our profiles in the weeks to come.
Some of the puppies that are listed as cream will become light golden when they are older, similar to Sandy. We all have a variation of "retriever" looks in our faces and the teddy bear look.
There are videos posted below. The initial set of videos (part 1 and 2) are today at 3 weeks. The other set on 1/6/11 were as we began to stand up to toddle, rather than scoot.

I smile. I am friendly, happy, cuddly, playful and laid back. I love to "bounce" across the room sometimes when I am being playful. I love to have my tummy rubbed. I love to play with Frankie and I love other dogs. I weighed 2.75 pounds at 3 weeks. I was 3.1 at 4 weeks. I weighed 3.5 pounds at 5 weeks. I weighed 4.25 pounds at 6 weeks. Hello! I have been losing some of my hair this week, even though I normally don't shed much, which is a normal part of the post pregnancy process. The puppies opened their eyes this week with the two cream males taking the lead, then the two females and last of all, the curly apricot male. They keep on gaining weight although not as rapidly as in the first week with the female pups weighing a little under 2 lbs and the males at 2 lbs or so.

We opened our eyes between Friday and Sunday morning, one at a time. I was the first male to open my eyes. My sister below opened hers shortly after me. Even though we can see, we are still sleeping a lot and eating. Mom even feeds us sitting up sometimes. Soon we will be toddling around and by next week, we will start playing with each other.

Now that we can see, we compete for the best feeding spots as seen in the next few pictures.

I am starting to relax a little. I now take a daily walk in between feedings and lickings which is a wonderful break that I love. Mom also keeps a sharp eye on me to make sure that I am eating enough and with good nutrition. I absolutely love the pups and am very protective of their well being. I also visit mom and dad in the living room for rest and care whenever needed, while the babies sleep in their puppy pile.

She feeds us and licks us so we will go potty and poop.
We all have nice fat bellies. Whenever we are happily fed and mom is resting,

All we do right now is sleep, eat and sleep some more.

We had our dew claws removed today at the vet.

We leave our loving nest on February 13, 2011, and following for our new homes.

Holiday F1b Miniature Puppies are Here!

We may look tiny in size at birth, but we are 11-12 oz and each one of us will be a nice size. We will double that weight by 1 week old. Our eyes will open in 2 weeks. Love, the puppies

I always let my human mom know that I am getting ready to have the puppies 20-24 hours in advance with lots of panting and digging on my dog bed. So mom slept with me half the night and checked on me frequently. At approx. 7:30 am this morning, my first two puppies came within 20 minutes of each other and the rest in approx. 30 minute segments until lunch. I had 3 males and 2 females this time, much to my mom's surprise. All of these puppies are reserved. The five pups are currently about the same size and beautiful with cream and apricot colors. I love each one all the same.

Grandma Daisey and Frankie the poodle are not allowed to come near the whelping box for now. I spend lots of time licking, feeding and keeping the puppies secure and warm. Puppies' favorite positions for sleeping is under my head in the crook of my neck or nestled in my tail, near my bottom. They also like to sleep in a puppy pile when I need to take a break for potty or self-nourishment. I am a little bedraggled in the pics. Mom will give me a bath tomorrow and brush and pamper me. I am receiving lots of petting and praise as I take such good care of my puppies.
